Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Training options feature two core courses—Lifeguarding and Shallow Water Lifeguarding (available in a blended learning format)—plus optional add-on modules, including waterfront skills or waterpark skills modules. The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach Lifeguard Training (including First Aid), CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED Essentials, Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer, Preventing Disease Transmission, Community Water Safety, and Basic Water Rescue. The training prepares instructor candidates by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials and methods, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive authorization to teach the above material for two (2) calendar years. Our six-level Learn-to-Swim program is unlike anything offered by other learn to swim programs. The program is designed for children over 6 years all the way up to adults, and students progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. Each level of our Learn-to-Swim class includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency, in addition to stroke development.

This approximately 30-hour course will help you teach skills that may save a life, gain terrific work experience as an aquatics professional, earn money or join a volunteer team while you help people learn valuable skills. In addition you will learn organizational and presentation skills that will help you in any career and make a difference in people’s lives.
